A VPN, or virtual private network, is an encrypted tunnel between your device and the internet. Instead of your traffic leaving your network in the clear where the provider or anyone on the same connection can read it, it is sealed first and sent to one of our servers, which passes it on to its real destination.

Two things change as a result. What you send becomes unreadable to anyone in between, and the sites you reach see our server address rather than yours.

Use public Wi-Fi without exposing what you are doing on it. Stop your internet provider from building a record of every site you visit. Reach services that a network, workplace, or provider has blocked at their end. Keep your real IP address off the sites you use.

It is worth being clear about what it does not do. A VPN protects the connection, not the account. If you log into a service, that service still knows who you are.

A VPN helps you reach streaming services, social media sites, and news providers safely and securely, particularly on networks that filter or monitor traffic.

Slightly, and usually not enough to notice. Encryption costs a little processing time and your traffic takes a longer physical path, so expect a small drop in throughput and a few extra milliseconds of latency.

There is a case where a VPN is faster. Some providers throttle particular kinds of traffic once they identify it. Inside the tunnel they cannot identify it, so the throttling never triggers. If speed matters to you, use the 24 hour trial and measure it on your own line before committing.

Yes. It is not blocked at the protocol level, not throttled, and not held against your account. Split tunneling is available if you want only that traffic going through the tunnel while everything else uses your normal connection.

No. We do not record browsing history, DNS queries, or traffic destinations. That is a deliberate design choice rather than a policy we could quietly reverse, because data that is never written cannot be leaked, sold, or produced on request.

We do hold the account and billing information you gave us at signup, for the ordinary reason that a business needs it to invoice you. Your activity is not part of that record.

It runs on the same servers as a paid subscription, with the same speeds and the same features, for a full day. Nothing is held back, so what you test is what you would be paying for. It gives you a real measurement against your own connection rather than a number from a marketing page.

Both are self-service from the client area. Invoices, renewal dates and cancellation all sit under your account, and a plan renews at the price you signed up at rather than jumping to a higher rate after the first term.
